Aftercare For Permanent Cosmetics
FOR ALL PROCEDURES:
- Do not wear makeup on tattooed area until area has healed.
- Do not pick, rub or scratch tattooed area.
- Use sun screen after tattoo heals, excluding eyeliner.
- Do not put anything at all on tattooed area except Bacitracin ointment or petroleum jelly. Do not use lotions, tanning creams and makeup until proper healing has taken place.
- Stay out of chlorinated pools for at least 1 week. Chlorine may affect the color.
- Do not use other antibiotic ointments that I did not recommend. Some ointments fade color.
- If there is any swelling immediately after the procedure, an ice pack should be applied for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
- If you experience an allergic reaction contact your doctor ASAP, and contact Julie Anthony 404-550-2787.
Eyeliner:
- Your eyelashes might stick together in the morning. Rinse eyes with eye wash. If eyes continue to stick together inform me ASAP so we can get drops for your eyes.
- You will need to keep the tattooed area and the eye moist by using artificial tears four times a day for 7 days.
- Keep eyes germ free to avoid an infection. Rinsing with saline several times a day for 7 days will help prevent an infection.
- Do not rub skin near your eyeliner when washing your face for at least 7 days.
- Do not wear contacts after eyeliner procedure for one day.
- You may have puffy eyes for 2-3 days. Ice packs may help.
- If your eyes are red from the eyeliner procedure you can use an emergency eye wash that can be purchased at any drug store. An eye wash that contains boric acid works well.
Eyebrows:
- You might have light bruising near eyelid or brow area.
- Apply Bacitracin ointment or petroleum jelly on brows for 7 days to keep them moist.
- The color will look bold for 5-7 days until healing takes place.
Lips:
- You should apply Bacitracin ointment or petroleum jelly on your lips every hour for the first three weeks. This will prevent dryness.
- If cold sores are seen on lip area, call your doctor for a Valtrex prescription ASAP. Put nothing else on the lip area!
- Drink out of a straw until excess pigment sheds off lips.
- Your lip color will fade 50% after excess pigment sheds off lips.
The tattooed area will be dark for the first several days and will fade. Lips will fade about 50% after the first three days into a natural shade. Most procedures may require touch ups. |
